The Singapore Grand Prix brought a big surprise from Russell (Mercedes), who, after taking pole position on Saturday, claimed the top spot on the podium, followed by Verstappen (Red Bull) and Norris (McLaren). Piastri (McLaren) finished fourth, losing a few points in the race for the individual title to his teammate Norris, who’s getting closer and closer. Verstappen also remains a threat, as he continues to pile up points.
Yesterday, however, was a day of celebration for McLaren, who secured the Constructors’ Championship with six races still to go. A solid result also came from the other Mercedes driver, Antonelli, who finished fifth—clear proof that the car updates announced earlier have paid off.
Sixth and seventh place went to the two Ferraris, with Leclerc and Hamilton, after an almost thrilling final laps ... but just after the race Hamilton got 5 seconds penalty, and Alonso became 7th in the official ranking. Thanks to a strategic tire change, Hamilton became extremely fast in the final laps, overtaking Leclerc and getting within a few tenths from Antonelli, but his car suddenly lost the braking system, forcing the British driver to slow down, losing the track limits for a while and getting the 5 seconds penalty.
The only Avorio Ferrari 250 GT/L ever produced by the factory is being put up for sale in the autumn by RM Sotheby’s, at the auction house’s November London event. Chassis 5379 was the 235th of the 350 examples built, and it is the only Avorio Ferrari 250 GT/L with a red leather interior. The Scaglietti-designed car was first owned by a WT Davis of New Jersey, who then passed it to sports car importer and SCCA racer Bob Grossman. It then went to Ferrari Club of America (FCA) treasurer Carl Johnson of Illinois. The Avorio Ferrari 250 GT/L was acquired from Dr Boniface’s estate by the vendor, and brought to the UK. It’s been annually serviced by Bob Houghton, and it retains its matching-numbers chassis, engine, gearbox and rear axle. It’s estimated $1.5M and up. The RM Sotheby’s London auction takes place on Saturday November 1, 2025,

It is an immense privilege watching this car with such a great history... there are pages and pages of news... and Jim says "It is a great handling race car, and still amazes me every time I see it and drive it"...
