Starting in 2027, Formula 1 will shift engine regulations to favor the internal combustion engine (ICE), shifting from a 50-50 to a 60-40 power split, reducing reliance on electric power. This change, agreed in principle, increases ICE power by 50kW (67bhp) and reduces electrical energy recovery system (ERS) output by the same amount. The internal combustion engine will provide more power than the electrical system, addressing driver concerns about heavy "lift-and-coast" energy management in 2026 cars. The changes involve modifying the hardware of the engines to achieve a ~50kW increase in ICE output, accompanied by increased fuel flow. The electrical portion (ERS) will see a 50kW reduction in deployment, making driving "more intuitive" and reducing speed drop-offs, the reports.Designed to reduce the need for excessive energy management, aimed at eliminating the "super-clipping" (acceleration drops) drivers faced in the 2026 regulations. The changes were agreed upon unanimously by the FIA, Formula 1 management, and team bosses as of May 8, 2026, and are pending a final World Motor Sport Council e-vote. The 2027 engine regulation changes were reached with unanimous commitment from all key stakeholders during an online meeting.
What is the distance between Bowling Green, KY and Maranello, Italy? About 4,750 miles. The sounds of Ferrari engines, on the Italian side, and the Corvette engines, on the American one are pretty far, but car lovers could make both trips for a fantastic comparison between the Ferrari's Museums and the Corvette one. By the way, are you able to find which of the pictures display Ferrari and which ones display Corvette?
The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY (1 hour driving from Nashville airport) offers a number of beautiful cars on display, often linked to people and moments of the recent American History. You visit the museum for the cars, but you feel you walk thru 70 years of American design, history, and society's life.
Ferrari Museums (there are 2) are in Maranello and in Modena, Italy (about 30 minutes driving from Bologna Airport) and display both sport cars, and cars specifically linked to F1 and races in general, with one of the museums specifically focused on Enzo Ferrari's life.
A trip to a car museum is always fantastic for a car lover: visiting several museums you will be also able to feel differences in style and philosophy that built the foundations of every manufacturer.

for sharing with us these fantastic pictures of his Ferrari BBLM #70 that finished 6th overall at Le Mans, on June 19th and 20th 1982. A special thanks to Sam Smith and Bob DeMart for their contribution. It is an immense privilege watching this car with such a great history... there are pages and pages of news... and Jim says "It is a great handling race car, and still amazes me every time I see it and drive it"...

Thank our Friends at Forza Motor Cars for these wonderful images of a marvelous Lamborghini Countach LP 400. This is the "Periscopio" model and is one of 150 produced. Contact us for more information or just enjoy...
